The Bird That Landed at the Worst Possible Moment
Birds move quickly, and photographers rarely have much control over where they will land.
Imagine two friends posing beside a fountain when a pigeon suddenly lands on the head or shoulder of one person.
The bird might remain perfectly calm while the person appears completely unaware of the unexpected visitor.
Alternatively, the subject might turn toward the bird with an expression of surprise just as the photograph is taken.
The timing can create the impression that the bird is delivering a message or attempting to participate in the conversation.
Urban birds often become comfortable around people, particularly in parks and busy public spaces.
Their willingness to approach humans can produce photographs that are both surprising and entertaining.
