The Person Who Appeared to Be Holding the Moon
Forced perspective is a photography technique that uses distance and camera angles to make objects appear larger, smaller, closer, or farther away than they really are.
Sometimes, people discover this effect accidentally while taking photographs of the moon.
A person standing in the foreground may extend a hand toward the sky, creating the illusion that the moon is resting in their palm. Another might appear to pinch it between two fingers or balance it on the tip of a finger.
The actual moon remains millions of kilometers away, but the photograph makes the interaction look surprisingly convincing.
These pictures often require little more than careful positioning and the willingness to experiment.
